Shon and Christy met while in college at Texas Tech University. Shon was pursuing a degree in accounting while Christy was studying psychology. In 2003, Lubbock built an Academy Sports and Outdoors, and being the sports fans that they both are they applied for a job. They bought a house in Keller, TX and are ready to begin a new chapter of their lives there. They strongly believe that everything happens for a reason, and for them that reason was to bring them together.
