|   |  | Kim and I went to Savannah, GA for a much needed weekend getaway. It was a beautiful fall day in Savannah and we decided to visit all the parks in Savannah on foot. After 5 miles of sightseeing, I was tired and wanted to sit down. During that time a butterfly landed on Kim's foot. It was weird because that butterfly refused to fly away and stayed on Kim's flip flop. Eventually Kim tried to get the butterfly off and took his flip flop off. To our surprise that butterfly didn't fly off and instead hung around for 10 minutes before finally flying away. Minutes later, Kim got all serious and grabbed my hand. He started to say such beautiful words and presented me with a gift; a jeweled goose egg. I still had no idea he was proposing. I thought he was just giving me a surprise gift. It wasn't until he started to say part of the same speech he said when he professed his love for me when I realized, "Oh my God, he's proposing!". I remember quickly looking around as I wanted to take it all in. It was a surprisingly warm sunny day, with birds singing and Orleans Square was not crowded. As I turned back to Kim, he got emotional and then I got emotional. I couldn't believe he was actually proposing! Moreover, I couldn't believe he walked around Savannah with this goose egg hidden in the video camera bag! He was so sneaky. We have never taken the video camera with us on any trip but weeks before he kept telling me we should use his video camera as it just keeps collecting dust. Little did I know that he was saying this just to throw me off the trail. Then Kim got down on one knee, opened the jeweled goose egg that was made into a ring box. He asked me if I would marry him in Spanish! The man who could barely say, "Buenos Dias" was proposing in Spanish! Naturally, I said yes! |
